About Mind2Move

Investigators:

Dr. Gloria Yeh MD, MPH: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School

Study Population:

  • Individuals with a history of a cardiovascular event

  • Individuals who are physically inactive

Study Duration:

  • 9 months for both groups

  • Three 1.5 hour in-person appointments at baseline, 6 months, and 9 months

    • Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Main Campus/Harvard Medical School

    • The Miriam Hospital/Brown University

If you choose to participate, you will be randomly assigned (like flipping a coin) to one group

Group A: Will attend online Tai Chi classes for six months and use a Fitbit with step goals and track your progress

Group B: Will be given an educational booklet on physical activity for individuals with heart conditions and a Fitbit at the end of the study

Compensation:

  • Classes and activities are free

  • All parking expenses will be covered

  • Up to $150 for completing the study
